Sunbelt Rentals UK & Ireland Car Leads Overnight and Finishes P2 at the Race of Remembrance
RABsport Racing was proud to run the Sunbelt Rentals UK & Ireland car at the 2025 Race of Remembrance, organised by the charity Mission Motorsport. The team delivered a superb performance over the long-distance endurance format, ultimately securing a P2 finish in class, just 3.5 seconds behind the winners after a dramatic final stint.
The Race of Remembrance — held at the demanding Anglesey Circuit — is one of the highlights of the UK endurance racing calendar. The event blends high-level competition with a meaningful charitable purpose, raising funds and awareness for injured and recovering Service personnel transitioning to life post-military service.
Strong Weekend on Track
From the start, the Sunbelt Rentals car was consistently competitive. Through practice, qualifying and the opening stages of the race, RABsport and its driver trio demonstrated excellent pace and race management, securing class pole position in Qualifying.
By the overnight halt, the car was running at the front of the field, holding the outright lead thanks to a combination of quick laps, clean traffic navigation and efficient pit work — a rare and impressive position in such a tightly matched endurance class.
The driver lineup of Colin Hoad, Mark Hoad, and Jake Hill drove with speed and consistency throughout the race, keeping the car in contention across every stint. Their commitment to precision and racecraft kept Sunbelt Rentals competitive through day and night running.
The event was expertly managed on-track by Troy Critchell and Ben Lloyd, whose strategic decisions, pit coordination, and leadership ensured the team executed a flawless race and maximised their opportunities throughout the 24-hour event.
A Tight Finish
As the race entered its closing stages the lead changed hands, and despite a strong final push from the team, the Sunbelt Rentals entry finished just 3.5 seconds behind the class winners, crossing the line in a very hard-fought P2 position — a testament to the driver skill, team management, and pit crew performance over the long race distance.
Proud to Support Mission Motorsport
Mission Motorsport’s work in organising the Race of Remembrance gives the event an emotional and community-focused dimension. Its dedication to supporting veterans and serving personnel through motorsport adds extra significance to every on-track achievement.
Team Principal Richard Barnard said:
“It was an incredible weekend for everyone involved with the Sunbelt Rentals UK & Ireland car. Colin, Mark and Jake drove superbly, and Ben and the crew delivered a flawless performance throughout. Running at the front overnight and finishing within a few seconds of the win shows how competitive the race was — and we’re proud to support Mission Motorsport’s fantastic cause while racing at such a special event.”
Looking Forward
The P2 result at the Race of Remembrance adds an exciting highlight to RABsport’s 2025 season, demonstrating the team’s ability to execute under pressure in one of UK endurance racing’s classic events. With strong performances now on the books and testing already underway for the 2026 season, the team remains focused on continuing its competitive momentum.
